Client Entryway: Before and After

So....I'm trying to get together a post about plans for our living room re-design.  It's taking me longer than expected because I seem to have lost my mind today.  Organizing photos and thoughts isn't in the plan so, to break up the blog silence I thought I'd share a before and after of an entryway I recently worked on.  If you follow me on Instagram, you may already have seen this one:

And today, a photo taken on my clients iPhone:

One more:

She threw together the vases and greens on the table for Christmas and winter, inspired by my "Winter Entryway" I shared here:

She basically hired me because of that post.... :)  I like her entryway better!!

Once I get the chance to get some more pictures of the space, I'll likely be back with more details.  As with most of my projects at this point, she is still looking to add a few more finishing touches, but that will be more clear once you see the rest of the space.

Paint sure does make a difference, doesn't it?!?!?

  1. Gorgeous transformation. My stairs look a little like the before but I have a runner and my husband doesn't want to remove it. That makes it hard to paint the risers. I love the colors in the after. So rich and welcoming!

  3. So glad she agreed to let you paint all that wood! So elegant now! Did you hang all those photos for her?

    1. Thanks Luci! I did not hang the photos myself, that would have been impossible. I'm not tall enough and don't have the right ladder. I made paper cutouts for the frames and taped them on the wall to make sure she liked the design. I just said "this design, two feet higher!!" since I couldn't tape them at the right height. We than used the same handyman that built my fireplace and bench to hang this gallery wall and one more that we added to her living room. He did it for a really reasonable price.

  7. Looks so nice - amazing what some paint will do and some great family photos. I love her table that she has displayed there too.

  8. What paint did you use on the stairs - I would love to hear your painting tips for the dark handrail and white spindles

    1. My tip for the handrail and spindles is to hire a professional! :) Sorry, but that is the honest to goodness truth, at least from my standpoint! If you don't want to hire a professional, at least pay for good quality paint and get some recommendations from your local Benjamin Moore! The guys in my area are quite helpful.
