With my husband at the Bears Packers game today, I was left at home with the boys trying to decide what we should do. I was happy when Grandma called to say she wanted to stop over and "bake" some cookies with my oldest son. She arrived with all supplies in hand to make some Cornflake Christmas Wreaths:
The recipe is extremely simple, delicious, and fun for a little three year old to make and decorate!
First, melt butter in a saucepan and then add the marshmallows (and yes we were stilling wearing our mismatched PJs at the time):
Next, stir in the package of marshmallow's until melted and add the green food coloring:
Then add the cornflakes and stir until coated:
Last but not least, enjoy!
1 tsp green food coloring
6 cups Cornflakes cereal
red cinnamon candies
In a large saucepan melt butter over low head. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat. Stir in food coloring. Add cornflakes cereal. Stir until well coated. Using a 1/2 cup dry measure coated with cooking spray, evenly portion warm cereal mixture. Using buttered fingers, quickly shape into individual wreaths. Dot with cinnamon candies.

ReplyDeleteThey were mostly my son and mom's doing! Hopefully he was creating some happy memories, too! :)
ReplyDeleteI remember making these when I was a kid. Thanks for the memory. Too cute, looks like your son really enjoyed them.
